What is ASL fingerspelling?
Fingerspelling represents letters of the written alphabet with handshapes and movement. It is useful for names, initials and words that need to be spelled out. ASL also has its own vocabulary and grammar, so fingerspelling is not a substitute for full ASL translation.
How to use SignMyWord
Choose ASL, enter a word or name, and SignMyWord displays the letters in sequence. You can share the result, create an image or prepare a printable classroom sheet.
SignMyWord is a fingerspelling reference tool, not a full ASL translation service.
